Child Protection & Mental Health Party

Melissa Walton, the owner of this Facebook page above, is a former member of the Party and former team leader in WA  who was expelled from the Party on 2nd March 2020.

Despite repeated requests to cease and desist from representing herself as a Child Protection Party representative, she is continuing to do so. She has registered an ABN for the Child Protection & Mental Health Party. On her ABN registration page, she has the Child protection Party listed as an entity she owns.

On her Australian Securities and Investment Commission record, hse has the Child protection party named s the holder of the Child Protection & Mental Health Party with herself named as our representative.

The Child Protection Party is not, in any way, associated with the Child Protection & Mental Health Party.

Nor do we have any desire to be associated with her party.

While we acknowledge her right to form a political party to advocate for change in the child protection system, we are disgusted by her blatant attempt to do so on the back of all the hard work done by Child Protection Party members since our founding in January 2015. We are disgusted by her blatant use of a minor rewording of our core statement "Ensuring a more equitable, fairer and transparent child protection system".

We cannot stop you from liking her Facebook page or joining her party but we would encourage you to have nothing to do with the Child Protection & Mental Health Party and instead, join the only genuine political party that has a focus on change in the child protection system, the Child Protection Party.
