'This is a PSA from WA Police': Drones used to enforce social distancing

These drones will be deployed in public spaces by WA Police to ensure people are social distancing.

They will be used at parks, beaches and cafe strips to ensure people are adhering to strict new gathering rules which ban people venturing outside in groups of more than two unless they are family or live together.

Police sirens sound from the small devices with red and blue lights delivering a public service announcement reminding people to follow social distancing regulations.

"Social distancing is critical to help limit the risk of COVID-19 spreading throughout the community," the PSA delivers over loudspeaker.

"Please ensure you are 1.5m away from others. Thank you your actions are saving lives."

The drones point members of the public to www.wa.gov.au for further social distancing information.
