A Melbourne primary school principal has been stood down over historical child sex charges.
Trinity Catholic School principal Peter Bartley, 47, is facing historical offences from his time at another school.
Four alleged victims have accused Bartley of sexual assaulting them between February and October 1999 at St Scholastica’s Catholic Primary.
In a letter to parents, Trinity Catholic School says it is “committed to creating an environment where the safety of all children in its care is paramount”.
In a statement, Catholic Education Melbourne has labelled any allegation of harm “profoundly distressing”.
